Those with sexually addictive behaviors face the possibility of destruction every day -- risking families, finances, jobs, dignity, and health. They come from all walks of life: physicians, executives, ministers, therapists, politicians, blue-collar workers, and lawyers. Most were abused as children – sexually, physically, or emotionally – and saw addictive behavior firsthand in their early lives. Our program has the ability to address this addictive disorder for those struggling with this difficult problem.
The importance of living authentically – accepting and embracing one’s sexuality – is work that is done on a psychological and psychodynamic developmental level. Disguising one’s sexual identity or orientation can induce anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, and addictive diseases. Caron Renaissance’s Sexual Concerns Program offers an environment that encourages openness and honesty, which are critical for individuals that experience shame regarding sexuality.
