College Bound Program
The College Bound Program at Caron Renaissance provides opportunities for patients, if clinically appropriate, to begin or continue in a college program during or following treatment.
Receiving treatment for a substance abuse should not derail a patient’s opportunity to participate in college. In fact, we believe that the experience of recovery can be presented as an asset to an educational institution, increasing the chances of a patient being admitted or readmitted to a college or university.
Caron Renaissance’s College Bound Program provides opportunities for patients to begin or continue in a college program during treatment and recovery. In the program patients and alumni are assisted by College Bound in:
- Medical leaves for college students entering treatment
- Gaining acceptance into a college or technical school
- Completing a degree started before entering treatment
- Transferring credits for courses taken while in treatment to their home college or university
The College Bound Program also helps students identify best fit graduate school programs through its Graduate School Pathway Program.
The College Bound Program serves hundreds of patients each year. Patients have attended local colleges or technical schools while receiving clinical care at Caron Renaissance, as well as been accepted to colleges and universities both online and throughout the country.
The College Bound Program is available to Caron Renaissance patients at no additional cost to the patient and the program advisors will help to identify potential scholarship opportunities to offset educational costs.
