Admissions

One of the biggest steps in treating an addiction to drugs or alcohol is simply getting started.  An individual struggling with addiction is often resistant to starting treatment. The admissions process at Caron Renaissance is based on an interventional model and is clinically-driven.  Both patient and family commitment is a driving force.  At Caron Renaissance we believe that the patient is the family and the family is the patient.  This parallel, yet tandem process recognizes the need to treat the entire family system.

Regardless of whether a patient has sought help on his own or has been referred to Caron Renaissance by a professional, friend or family member, the admissions staff at Caron Renaissance is available to answer questions and address any concerns one may have, starting from the very first contact we have with you.  Caron Renaissance accepts both self-referrals of individuals, as well as referrals from professionals and loved ones.

A Case Specialist from the Admissions Department will work closely with the potential patient, family members, professionals and the referent to determine an appropriate level of care, and make specific clinical recommendations.   Case Specialists will assess the patient and their family to determine if the patient is appropriate for treatment at Caron Renaissance.  Case Specialists will also consult with the treatment team and/or the Medical Director to determine the appropriateness of a potential patient.

Once a patient and their family are determined to be clinically appropriate for treatment at Caron Renaissance, the Case Specialist will work with other clinical staff to assign the individualized treatment team.  At the same time, the Case Specialist will begin making arrangements to secure an admission date or, if necessary, will work with the family to secure intervention services.  All admissions are scheduled and transportation arrangements are available.

During the admissions process family members will also be assigned a separate therapist with whom the family will begin its own therapeutic process.  At this point, we also encourage families to begin reading and reviewing the Roadmap to Recovery, an overview of Caron Renaissance's treatment philosophy.
